Critter Aid -Summerland Santuray & RescueCritteraid, the Summerland Cat Sanctuary, was established in 1992 to provide refuge for unwanted, abused, abandoned and feral cats. The sanctuary is based in the Trout Creek area of Summerland, B.C. where presently 74 cats reside. King's County Animal ControlAs animal control by-law enforcement officers, we are constantly in the position of deciding the fate of abandoned dogs. Over one hundred dogs typically pass through our pound each year. Of these dogs, about half are strays that get reclaimed by their owners. Most of our cats have been rescued from an out-of-town Animal Control, typically the day before they would be euthanized.
