Second Chance Animal Rescue and Adoptions

Second Chance Animal Rescue and Adoptions is an organization committed to saving abused and homeless animals and rehabilitating them for proper adoption. Zeke (above) was rescued and is shown here awaiting adoption. Atlanta animal shelters euthanize thousands of unwanted dogs each month, and SCARA rescues as many slated for Death Row as possible in order to offer them a "second chance" at life and happiness. Once the animals are rescued, each is spayed/ neutered, treated with shots, tested for heartworms and, in many cases, brought back to health with essential vet work and surgery.

Second Chance At Life Animal Rescue

Second Chance At Life Animal Rescue was founded by two vet techs who wanted to be able to help the many strays that walk through the doors of veterinarian offices everyday. We will take in as many animals as we can, but our foster space is limited. If we are booked, we will do everything that we can to help re-home your pet or find a place for a stray. It is important for us to also offer education regarding proper animal care including screening tests, preventative care, neutering, and behavior.

Society of Humane Friends - Duluth

We accept cats and dogs on a space-available basis and operate on a no-kill philosophy: we do not kill healthy pets to make room for incoming pets. We foster these pets in one of our foster homes until they are ready for adoption. All pets must be healthy, spayed or neutered, and fully vetted to be considered for adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of the pets listed, please contact the individual foster home listed on each pet page

Southern Comfort Animal Rescue Services Inc

SCARS does not have kennels, rather we operate on a home rescue premise, meaning whenever possible - animals are in loving homes. This enables us to tell you more about the animal's temperament, character, personality and habits! And sometimes even allows us time to train them. Regardless of breed, pedigree or mix, we believe sharing your home with an animal truly comes down to insuring that the families and the animals personalities compliment each other. We want you and your new pet to live together

Southern Hope Humane Society

Southern Hope Humane Society is a non-profit pet rescue organization located in the metro Atlanta area. We take animals from animal shelters in the metro area, get them fully vetted and care for them in foster homes. All animals are spayed or neutered, de wormed, up to date on all vaccinations and tested negative for heart worms or Leukemia (unless otherwise noted). Caring for these animals in our homes allows us to learn more about their personalities and helps us to place them in a home best suited for them.

Spalding County Animal Shelter

Our first and foremost goal is to ensure health and safety of the residents of Spalding County by controlling the population of unwanted animals—domesticated and otherwise. Second, we strongly believe in the humane treatment of all animals. We put our best foot forward to ensure all animals are provided with adequate food, fresh water, and shelter. We also protect animals that have been fought, maliciously killed, injured, and permanently disfigured. By responding to your calls and through investigative efforts, we are able to charge and convict many cruelty offenders
