ADOPT-A-PET

Adopt-A-Pet was founded in 1984 and is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to finding homes for animals who need them. Adopt-A-Pet is different from most shelters and rescue organizations in that any animal who comes through our doors will not be in danger of being euthanized. Many animals have problems that are solved if given the right treatment and training, these dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted

Hope For Animals

We are a small group of volunteers that give a second chance to homeless and orphaned cats. We provide them with warmth, shelter, food, water, and love. We give them all the medical care they need. We keep them safe and prevent them from abuse. We work tirelessly to match each and every one of them with a loving and permanent home best suited for the animal and the pet owner.

Communities Altering The Strays (CATS)

Communities Altering The Strays (CATS) acts as an information resource center for people that want to help stray and feral cats in their neighborhoods. We advocate spaying and neutering of family pets, and actively promote TNR (trap/neuter/return). We give one-on-one advice to novice rescuers through telephone conversations and email, and are here to anwer any questions they have until they gain the confidence to manage their projects on their own. For people within our local communities, we give hands-on training and assistance in TNR. For senior citizens and physically challenged people, we also offer volunteer trappers, transport and post-op care for the cats until they are returned. We also have cats and kittens living in foster homes that we have available for adoption. The cats and kittens that appear on our website and Petfinder sites were rescued from the streets of surrounding towns. Some of the cats, especially kittens, come from cat colonies that we manage for local animal control. We are not a shelter and do not accept cats. We do offer internet exposure to pet owners who must part with their pets, and to independent rescuers of stray and feral cats. We network with area shelters, rescue groups, and veterinarians and work together to find homes for as may cats as we can.

Amost Home Daschund Rescue

Almost Home has a goal of respectful support of independent volunteers who offer rehabilitation and placement of unwanted dachshunds. The network offers a new approach to dachshund rescue in that we offer a place for volunteers to access information from our national web site, post available dachshunds, and enjoy the support of other members in a friendly, open forum. Through fundraising efforts, we provide financial support to our members for treatments beyond their own rescue budgets. Almost Home is committed to working with other national and regional rescue groups in placing and transporting dogs, as well as offering financial assistance when possible. We are also committed to education; raising the public's awareness of puppy mills and pet store puppies, spay/neuter issues, and responsible ownership are important goals of Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Society
