Animal MattersAnimal Matters is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 1998 with the goal of educating the general public on the use and abuse of animals. We focus on the inherent link between what we eat, wear and use to the well-being of our animal friends, our health and our environment. Ruff Beginnings, Inc.Ruff Beginnings was founded in 2006. We were incorporated in 2007, and we are in the process of getting our 501(c)(3) Not-Profit Organization status. The need for more safe places for unwanted, abused and orphaned pets had become so enormous, we decided that we needed to do something to help as many of these animals as possible. We gathered the information that we needed to start a rescue and decided that even though it was going to be a lot of work, if we could save even one life it would all be worth it.
