Cat Care Society

Cat Care Society, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1981 to improve the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area. Established by Linda East, DVM and Lynn Rowe, the Society's purposes are: To sponsor educational programs that promote responsible pet ownership, humane treatment of all animals, and to reduce pet overpopulation. To shelter cats in a healthy, cage free environment and to provide compatible and responsible adoptions. To provide community outreach programs that improve the quality of life for cats and people. To be a friend to all cats. The shelter provides a temporary refuge for up to 50 cats until an appropriate and permanent home can be found for each. Veterinary care, premium diet, and human interaction are lovingly provided. Unfortunately, we are able to accept only a limited number of cats because of a "full house".

Lakewood Animal Shelter / CCLAS - Citizens' Committee for a Lakewood Animal Shelter

Lakewood is the first city/suburb west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie. We are the only community northwest of Cleveland in our county who shelter our strays and try to find adoptable homes for them. All animals in the shelter come in off the streets of Lakewood, are abandoned, or taken in due to neglect. CCLAS is the support group for the shelter. We were founded over 20 years ago because Lakewood had no shelter - now we help fund the spay/neuter programs, supply volunteers to help the shelter wardens, supply foster homes as needed, and educate the public. Of course, we do fundraising!
