Anderson Animal ShelterIncorporated in 1966, Anderson Animal Shelter provides temporary housing for approximately 3,400 dogs, cats, birds, gerbils, hamsters, ferrets and other homeless or abandoned pets. We are committed to a low-kill philosophy (100% adoption of adoptable animals) and so do not place time limits on any of the animals in our care. In 2001 an on-site veterinary clinic was added to provide health care for Shelter animals and to assist in the goal of spaying/neutering all adopted dogs and cats before they leave the Shelter. Our Mission: To establish Anderson Animal Shelter as a premier facility dedicated to compassionate and humane treatment of homeless companion animals through direct care, education and communithy outreach programs.1000 S.
