APET Rescue & Kennels Inc.

A-PET is strictly a no-kill, rescue shelter! Once an animal comes through our doors, it stays with us until an appropriate home is found for that animal. A-PET boasts over 270 successful adoptions! We never "return" or release an animal to any Animal Control Facility nor do we ever turn an animal over to any other organization that participates in euthanasia. A-PET accepts animals on a space available basis giving priority to the rescue and care of lost, injured, abandoned and/or stray animals from Edwards Animal Control as well as PCS Surrenders. PCS surrenders are those animals that come from military members who have Deployment or PCS Orders and are unable to continue properly caring for their pet(s) due to the Air Force Mission.

ARF - Animal Rescue Friends

We are located in the mountain community of Idyllwild, CA (an hour from Palm Springs and Temecula). We rescue animals from the streets of our community that have become lost or abandoned. We do not have a facility at this point and use our generous foster homes up here to house them. We educate the community on pet issues, such as heartworm, and putting collars and tags on their animals, which are a couple of important issues up here.

Ariel Rescue

Dogs are saved on their "last day" before being euthanized at municipal shelters, rescued and brought to local Orange County veterinarians. They are bathed, vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Once they have been given a clean bill of health, ARIEL RESCUE shows them at PETsMART located at 26761 Aliso Creek Road, Aliso Viejo, CA on Saturdays. We show family friendly dogs -- labs, huskies, golden retriever mixes and lots of other breed mixes - big and small.

Association of German Shepherd Rescuers Inc

Approximately 50% of the dogs that we rescue come to us directly from owners who are no longer able to care for them for one reason or another. The number one reason that we receive dogs is ?Moving?, with the number two reason of ?No time for? is a close second. Dogs also come to us when owners become ill or hospitalized, when owners pass away, when families lose their homes or lifestyles change. The other 50% of the dogs in our care are plucked from public animal shelters throughout Southern California when no owner comes to claim them or when they are no longer wanted. We race to save as many of these dogs into our care as we can, however limited space and resources constantly make our task difficult.
