Humane Society of the Upper Valley

The Humane Society of the Upper Valley is the only humane agency that works to help animals located in the entire Upper Snake Rivery Valley area. We have four main goals. The first is to offer spay and neuter certificates to low income families in order to try and stem the constant flow of puppies and kittens. Secondly, we offer pet adoption services helping to place animals that are being surrended by their families or that are abandoned or strays. Working through various breed rescues, we often place dogs out of our area. We also investigate animal abuse and cruelty cases and work closely with local law enforcement. Lastly, we have a 24-hour message service which is answered daily, offering help to people with their pet-related problems. 208-681-HSUV

City of Rexburg Animal Shelter

Many people look to animal control and the shelter as a last resort when they have tried other options and been unsuccessful, we're working to change that image. Animal control and the shelter should be looked at as a resource; here you have people trained in handling animals and animal behaviors, people with the experience and references to help you and your animal with obedience training, to work past behavioral issues, or to help the neighbor quiet their noisy dog. The shelter is also here to help reunite lost animals with their families or to find new homes for those animals where their families can no longer provide the environment needed.
