Almost Home Animal Shelter

If you are thinking of adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting an animal from a shelter. Almost Home is a no-kill shelter, but because of that we can run out of space for new dogs and cats. . We are always in need of foster homes for our pregnant moms and puppies and for kittens too young to adopt. They need a safe environment away from other animals while their immune systems are not yet fully developed.

Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network - Mid West

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need. We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between. Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle. At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

Katann Chow Rescue of Southwestern Minnesota

We are a small, independent chow chow rescue located in southwestern Minnesota. We primarily are asked to take homeless chows from shelters in the Midwest and prepare them for adoption into loving permanent homes. All our adoptees are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked if old enough, and groomed. We are no longer taking owner surrenders, but would be happy to help owners find new homes for their chows by courtesy posting them on this site.

Minnesota Boxer Rescue

The main goal of our organization is an all volunteer effort to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxer dogs within Minnesota. Our mission includes hands-on rescue, as well as education. When a dog comes into our rescue program they are examined by our vet, brought up to date on vaccines, heart worm tested, (placed on heart worm preventive medication) and fecal tested. All dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We evaluate each Boxer's personality and temperament, so he/she can be placed in the best home suited for that dog. We are a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit Organization.
