Rutherford County Animal ControlIf you are interested in adopting an animal from the shelter you will need to come by and select an animal. After choosing the animal you must fill out the adoption contract stating that you will take the animal to the veterinarian of your choice. The cost of the adoption is $60.00 for all dogs and cats. The cost includes your exam at the vets office, 1st rabies vaccine, 1st parvo/distemper vaccine, and the spay or neuter of the animal. The shelter hours are Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. til 2:00 p.m. The shelter is closed on Sunday and major holidays. The shelter is located at 578 Laurel Hill Drive in Rutherfordton.
