Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue Network - North West

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need. We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between. Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle. At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

Little Orphan Animals, Inc

Little Orphan Animals, Inc. offers pet "matchmaking" and helps people find their special someone through specialized Internet marketing and aggressive networking. Working with other shelter groups and foster care networks, transitional care for displaced, convalescing and other special-needs pets may be found. Little Orphan Animals, Inc. also works with independent rescue workers, helping them locate equipment, food and medical resources in their own area. LITTLE ORPHAN ANIMALS, Inc. is primarily a referral organization. We do NOT have shelter facilities at this time. We work with private parties, retailers, shelters, foster homes, pet transport services, law enforcement, and others to facilitate the coordination of services. Examples include arranging home checks for private parties and animal welfare organizations pre- and post-adoption, coordinating pet-transport services for pets being rehomed, researching alternative interventions for animal wellness, e.g., innovative health care, diet and behavior modification.

Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon

Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon, Inc. is a volunteer run, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Golden Retrievers. Our mission is to find caring, adoptive homes for Goldens in need and to educate the public to prevent the homeless Goldens of the future. Goldens in need of new homes come from a variety of circumstances. Some come to us due to compelling family situations such as death, divorce, family illness, relocation or economic hardship. Other Goldens are released to rescue because of behavior problems due to lack of exercise and poor understanding of the needs of the breed. Since our beginnings in 1990, we have successfully placed over 1000 Goldens with new loving families.

Willamette Humane Society

Willamette Humane Society has been serving animals in the Mid-Willamette Valley since 1965, providing them with a place to live, nutritious food, plenty of love, and exercise until they can be placed in a new, permanent home. Over 12,000 homeless animals come through our door each year, hoping to get a second chance. Willamette Humane Society is an independent, private, nonprofit corporation supported solely by the generosity of our community's individuals and businesses. Because of this support, the Humane Society provides Marion and Polk counties with many programs and services, including adoptions, cruelty investigations, humane education, referrals, and much more.
