Lakewood Animal Shelter / CCLAS - Citizens' Committee for a Lakewood Animal ShelterLakewood is the first city/suburb west of Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie. We are the only community northwest of Cleveland in our county who shelter our strays and try to find adoptable homes for them. All animals in the shelter come in off the streets of Lakewood, are abandoned, or taken in due to neglect. CCLAS is the support group for the shelter. We were founded over 20 years ago because Lakewood had no shelter - now we help fund the spay/neuter programs, supply volunteers to help the shelter wardens, supply foster homes as needed, and educate the public.
