| In 1998 a group of concerned citizens in Iowa County got together to solve the stray and abandoned animal problem. The group had no money just an idea and had one thing in in common, the total love and devotion to animals.
From that very first meeting the Iowa County Humane Society (ICHS) was formed. Over the last two years the society has developed bylaws, incorporated, built a community awareness program and moved into a new (hopefully) permanent facility. 3207 Bennett Road, Dodgeville WI US 53533 Ph: 6089351381Fax: 6089352884

	| The Pepin County Humane Society has been in business for close to 30 years. We are a very small shelter with only 5 dog kennels & 8 cat kennels. Because we're so small it's very difficult to find homes for all our homeless pets. Also, because we're so small we are able to get to know the animals that cross our path VERY well. | Our adoption policy is quite simple! First, you have to come into the shelter and find a pet that will suit your family. Then you fill out an application consisting of your name, address, veterinarian, and a short adoption agreement. We schedule a spay/neuter appointment for the animal and after the procedure is complete you pick your new pet up from Eagle River Animal Hospital in Eagle River. One thing that we would like to mention is that the Humane Society of Vilas County does not adopt dogs out to live outside. 2477 Hwy 45 North, Eagle River WI US 54521 Ph: 7154799777

	| We take in retired breeders from commercial kennels and rehabilitate them so they can be adopted into loving homes. These dogs are not use to human contact or anything household related when we get them. They are afraid of people and all new noises, such as the TV, ringing telephone, vaccum cleaner, washing machine, ect..... They have only lived in a kennel as part of a pack. The only thing they know is the cage in which they have lived their lives. , Eau Claire WI US 54701 Ph: 7158343199

	| Walworth County Humane Society was accepted by the state of Wisconsin as a non-profit, tax exempt organization in November of 1978. In 1985 the name was changed to Lakeland Animal Welfare Society (LAWS).
Lakeland Animal Shelter is owned and operated by Lakeland Animal Welfare Society. It is centrally located three miles south of Elkhorn, WI. on highway 67, and it is the only animal shelter in Walworth County. Its doors are open to the public six days a week except on legal holidays. The shelter is staffed by dedicated and trained employees. Volunteers also play a crucial role in meeting many of the shelter's special care needs.
A board of directors, elected by LAWS members, establishes the policies of the Society and the operation guidelines for Lakeland Animal Shelter.
At LAWS it is our goal to prevent cruel treatment to animals. We feel it is our job to educate the public on the needs of pets, to help enforce laws pertaining to animal welfare and to humanely end the suffering of any animal for which a proper home cannot be found. | We are a group of people who care very much what happens to homeless companion animals. Because there had been no provision made locally for stray animals, we serve as the animal shelter in our area. We respond to as many calls as our limited number of foster volunteers can manage. We are always looking for more foster volunteers willing to temporarily share their homes and their love with animals needing a hand. PO Box 338, Ferryville WI US 54628 Ph: 6086482461
