Animal Education and Rescue (NFP)Animal Education and Rescue, NFP is an Illinois not for profit organization. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization. 3. The purpose of the foundation is to help countless numbers of animals and people. 1. We speak to schools, civic organizations, and clubs about responsible pet ownership. This will include the reasons for spaying and neutering, general care, and the do's and don'ts of owning a pet. We teach pet owners about how animals communicate with each other and with humans. We have designed special programs to introduce animals to children through animal body language sessions and pet education. 2. We provide pet therapy programs. Volunteers and their pets will visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools for the disabled and hospitals. Austin Area Ferret SheltersWe are a ferret rescue and shelter located in Central Texas, serving the Austin metro area including Travis, Hays, Williamson and Bastrop Counties. In addition, we are proud to be a part of the Town Lake Animal Shelter’s Rescue Transfer Program. Often ferret owners find that they can no longer care for their ferret and the ferret is surrendered to the shelter. We also receive calls from individuals who find a stray ferret wandering in their yard. When this happens, every effort is made to find the ferret’s owner. Pet Adoption Services IncPet Adoption Services, Inc. is a non-profit all breed cat and dog rescue organization in New Orleans. Supported by over 20 volunteer members, Pet Adoption Services was founded in 1996, although some of our members have been involved in rescue for as long as 20 years. Our mission is to secure loving permanent homes for homeless, abandoned or abused cats and dogs of all breeds. While awaiting adoption, our animals live in the homes of one of our foster parents. During this time the animals receive any necessary veterinary care, including but not limited to, vaccinations, spaying or neutering and perhaps heartworm treatment. Our experienced foster parents continually assess each pet's personality and temperament allowing us to place adoptable cats and dogs in just the right permanent home. Pet Adoption Services participates in adoption days during which time, potential adopters get the opportunity to meet and spend time with the animals in a "real life" situation. Pet Adoption Services holds several fundraisers throughout the calendar year so that we can continue to meet the needs of homeless animals.
