Central States Horse Rescue & SanctuaryCentral States Horse Rescue was founded in 1995. Back then we were "Wisconsin Horse Rescue". We have grown quickly over the years. We have participated in helping many abused and/or neglected horses in these short years. "Central States Horse Rescue" was originally self funded, but we soon discovered that expansion required funding through donations. Thus we became a not-for-profit organization. We are a PRIVATE rescue center, NOT a 501c3, non-profit. However ALL donations are used entirely for the horses. No one receives a salary for this effort. However, our priorities dictate our main goal is to help needy horses, not to do fundraising. Our goal is to intervene in cases of abuse and neglect, purchase horses destined for slaughter, and to offer them sanctuary. With this in mind we humbly ask for your kind donations, both large and small.
