Humane Society of Pocahontas CountySince its founding in 1998, the Humane Society of Pocahontas County has been instrumental in spaying and neutering hundreds of pets and strays and arranging adoptions of many animals. Our rescue efforts have saved starving horses, lost and abused animals and most recently helped to shut down a cat breeding operation which was out of control. Last Chance Animal RescueLast Chance Animal Rescue is operated by a private family in Pocahontas County WV and we have donated our home and time to take in unwanted , abused and neglected animals and give them everything they need until a new and forever home is found. Although we try to never turn away any animal in need our main areas of focus are rabbits, ferrets,llamas, goats, horses and domesticated birds. We have also devoted our own time and resources to rescue as many starved and abused horses that funds will allow from kill buyers at auctions to keep them from going to slaughter.
