San Francisco County Animal Control

Shelter personnel conduct the following animal control activities. Provide nourishment and medical care for wild, exotic, stray, surrendered and all other animals in our care Provide basic health screening including preventative disease control for all the animals in our care Vaccinate animals in our care against diseases. Adopt out strays, unwanted and abandoned animals. Humanely euthanize those animals we are unable to place. Sell dog licenses and voluntary cat registrations. Enforce all animal control and anti-cruelty ordinances. Provide shelter care for animals in protective custody, under observation or quarantine. Provide a volunteer program through which members of the community can get actively involved in helping our animals. Provide lost and found services. Provide adoption counseling. Groom shelter animals. Provide information on pet owner responsibility and pet care. Maintain accurate records on all animal control activities.

We are a small but busy shelter located in Alameda, California which is an island located in the San Francisco Bay. We are about a fifteen minute drive from SF and a five minute drive from Oakland. Friends of the Fairmont Animal Shelter (FOFAS)

Friends of the Fairmont Animal Shelter (FOFAS) is a non-profit animal rescue organization composed exclusively of volunteers, with an office on the grounds of the Alameda County Fairmont Animal Shelter in San Leandro, Ca (located in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area). Tri-Valley Animal Rescue

Our Mission: Tri-Valley Animal Rescue, Inc. (TVAR) is a non-profit charitable organization run solely by volunteers dedicated to placing homeless animals. TVAR is the only authorized group for the East County Animal Shelter (ECAS, formerly known as the Santa Rita Animal Shelter). Through the commitment of our volunteers, TVAR works to ensure services such as: rescuing adoptable and/or treatable animals at risk at the ECAS and placing them in our foster program; providing volunteers at the ECAS by interfacing with the general public and helping with animal care; providing low cost spay/neuter programs; educating the public about spaying/neutering and responsible pet ownership; administering vaccinations to shelter animals; securing donations and contributions; and matching suitable, responsible new owners with the animals through adoption events.

Berkeley Animal Care Services

The City of Berkeley Animal Services is a division of the City of Berkeley in the office of special community services. Animal services provides field services for the cities of Berkeley and Albany and shelters animals from Berkeley, Albany, Piedmont, and Emeryville.
