Camp Lone Star Rescue was started by a small group of volunteers who are committed to rescuing Cairn Terriers and high Cairn-mixes. Most of our rescues come from kill shelters, owner surrenders, backyard breeders and puppymills in the Texas-Oklahoma-Louisiana-Arkansas region.

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need.
We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between.
Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

FureverFriends, Inc. is an animal rescue organization founded in 1995 by experienced animal welfare volunteers who wanted to work with local animal shelters, veterinarians, and the community to find homes for unwanted and abandoned animals.
Furever Friends is not a shelter, but a group of volunteers who foster animals in their homes until permanent homes can be found. Foster animals are brought to the Petsmart in Southlake each weekend and all of our available animals can be found on our website at fur-everfriends.petfinder.com.

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment. To provide medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program. To provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring new home that will ensure a quality of life each Dane has deserved from the day it was born. We have been rescuing Great Danes in the D/FW/Denton area since 1998 and we take pride in the collective love, concern and dedication for the throw-away Danes here. It is our mission to continue to hear the voices of the less fortunate Danes, and to provide them safety, protection and their birthright of a quality of life with love and dignity.
