Plainfield Animal ControlThe Plainfield Animal Control Shelter is a municipal dog pound. On an average, we process approximately three hundred animals per year. Our average adoption rate is 85%. Dogs are the primary animal that we house. The animal control unit is responsible for enforcing all Connecticut animal control laws. The Animal Control Officer visits the elementary and middle schools twice yearly speaking on a variety of topics. The unit also participates in the annual pet show co-sponsored by the recreation department and the national adopt-a-thon sponsored by the North Shore Animal League. We offer yearly rabies clinics sponsored by the Connecticut Municipal Animal Control Officer's Association.
