Pender County Animal Control

Pender County Animal Control is a small rural shelter that is located in a big county. Pender Co. is 900 sq. miles of country roads and beaches, stretching east from Topsail Island to west of HWY 421 and south from the New Hanover county line to north at the Onslow and Duplin county lines. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The shelter is located in Burgaw, NC. about 25 miles north of Wilmington, NC. We are a fiscally challenged county shelter. This is the dog pound. While we are NOT a no-kill facility, we do work closely with a small group of dedicated volunteers to take as many adoptable pets from this shelter as possible and place them in foster care
