Humanitarians of Florida, Inc

Humanitarians of Florida, Inc. is an all-volunteer non-profit, 501(c)(3), humane organization dedicated to relieving the suffering of animals. We do this primarily through direct help programs. Our members work entirely without salary. Our first priority is to help animals in Citrus County, and maintain our programs. However, there are many rural areas in Florida which have little or no help for animals. We are chartered to go into those areas and do so when our funds permit. We actively seek to find "forever homes" for displaced pets.

Jacksonville Sheltie Rescue

We are the Jacksonville Sheltie Rescue Inc. On this site I am going to show you lost or found and make people aware of the available rescued shelties in the Jacksonville, FL area. Generally people think Shelties NEVER get in dire straits. Let me tell you folks! We rescued over 29 of those wonderful dogs last year, just in our city. From the Shelters, from the streets, and from people who just didn't want to bothered with a dog anymore. Tis sad the state of affairs the canine world is in!

JR. HUMANE SOCIETY

The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For the past 18 years, we have taken in owner released pets so they won't be taken to the pound/animal shelter. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a permanent home we provide necessary vet care, including but not limited to shots, spaying and neutering. We also offer a low cost Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) to local rescue groups and people who have multiple animals, or need financial assistance.

Kamp Kritter

Kamp Kritter is a no-kill animal shelter in Jacksonville, Florida. We participate in the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and adoption of abandoned, injured and homeless dogs. Without this kind of care many of these dogs face abuse and abandonment but here at the Kamp we offer a loving, homelike environment for the dogs to live in before adoption. Dogs who have been mistreated sometimes find the first safe environment they have ever known and the dogs that wander into our lives find a caring, healthy place to spend their time until adoption. At the shelter, dogs learn how to interact with humans and other dogs under the watchful eye of Head Kritter Sue Towler and other dedicated volunteers and colleagues.

Magnolia Setter Rescue

Magnolia Setter Rescue is a network of volunteers who protect and promote the Setter breeds (Gordon, Irish, English, and Irish Red & White). Our mission is to help save Setter lives throughout the State of Florida and in many other states that we are able to cover. As Setter fanciers, we strive to take care of our Setter friends who unfortunately, from time to time, get placed in the wrong home, are lost, or are unwanted because they no longer fit the family setting for one reason or another. Our foster families take these dogs into their homes, evaluate and get them ready for rehoming. Our Coordinator, Bonnie Foster, is also the Irish Setter Club of America Rescue Coordinator for Region 3, which includes NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, OK, AR, & TN, and KY in Region 2.

Manatee Doberman Rescue

I have been doing Doberman rescue on the west coast of Florida (in one form or another) for the past 15 years. I am currently in need of foster homes, monetary donations for medical care, and volunteers to help with transport and home checks. I only rescue Dobermans that are scheduled for euthanasia at shelters for minor medical/behavior problems such as heartworm positive or scared. My dogs are fostered in loving homes, temperment tested and examined by a veterinarian. They are treated for any medical condition that may exist, brought up-to-date on all vaccines, microchipped and spayed/neutered.

Mid Florida Sheltie Rescue

Save a Sheltie The goal of Sheltie Rescue of Central Fl is to help Shetland Sheepdogs who turn up in shelters, are found lost on the street, are no longer wanted by their owners, or whose owners can no longer care for them. We seek to prevent the euthanasia of any Shelties. To avoid this, we place Shelties found in shelters or elsewhere into foster homes where they are cared for as a member of the family. They are then more likely to be successful when the right adopting family is found, because they are accustomed to a home environment rather than a kennel environment.
