Shelter Rescue was started in February 1997 with the focus of reducing the number of pets euthanized at local animal control facilities. Upson County Animal ShelterWE ARE HERE TO CONTROL STRAY'S AND NUISANCE ANIMALS WE DO NOT LIKE PUTTING ANIMALS DOWN AND IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT WE HAVE TO DO THIS.BUT YOU CAN HELP BY HELPING SPREAD THE NEWS OF SPAYING AND NEUTERING PETS.ALSO EVERY PET ISN'T FOR EVERYONE SO MAKE A CLEAR DECISION AND NOT ADOPT BECAUSE OF EMOTIONS.ADOPTING A CUTE PUPPY THAT WOULD GROW TO BE A LARGE DOG WHEN YOU WANTED AN INSIDE DOG FOR EXAMPLE WOULD BE WRONG AND PROBABLY END BACK AT THE SHELTER. THE ANIMAL SHELTER IS THE ONLY PLACE IN THOMASTON THAT CAN LEGALLY HOUSE STRAY OR ESCAPED PETS. IF YOU KEEP SOMEONE'S PET EVEN WITH GOOD INTENTION'S YOU CAN BE CHARGED WITH THEFT.
