Humane Society of Noble County

The Humane Society of Noble County is a small shelter on the Southeast side of Kendallville. We are able to house dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. There are four employees and one manager working all week long at the shelter. Our animals are kept very clean, dry and fed. We love on them daily and give them the best possible TLC we can. They are let out of the kennels daily to run and roam free in the fenced in back yard (supervised of course). Our staff works very hard at maintaining the upmost standards for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.

Pals For Paws

"Pals for Paws" is a NO-KILL, ALL-BREED Animal Rescue organization (non-profit 501c3 ) powered by an all-volunteer staff who are passionate about improving the lives of dogs and cats in our community. We are a group of caring individuals who devote our time to help homeless, abandoned, or abused pets find loving "forever-homes", and who work toward fulfilling... OUR MISSION: to significantly reduce, and eventually eliminate pet euthanization and homelessness due to irresponsible and/or uneducated owners through a combination of: (1) a low-cost spay/neuter program, (2) regularly scheduled adoption events supported by local businesses, (3) a well-trained, compassionate foster-home network, and (4) effective public awareness and education activities.

Companion Animal Association Inc.

The Companion Animal Association (CAA) is a network of foster care providers located throughout central and northern Indiana. We are a 100% volunteer-based, 501c3 not-for-profit organization registered with the state of Indiana. CAA is working diligently to rescue abused, abandoned, and homeless pets. We do not have a shelter. Rather, each of our rescued pets lives with a real family in a warm home environment where they receive lots of love, attention, and socialization. All of our dogs are tested for heartworm, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, and started on a flea and tick preventative program prior to adoption. Puppies that are not old enough to be spayed or neutered can be adopted prior to surgery. However, those who adopt unaltered puppies are issued Spay / Neuter Rebate certificates and are required to send in proof of surgery within 6 months

La Porte Small Animal Shelter

We provide animal control services for all unincorporated areas of La Porte County, and we also operate the county animal shelter. We are dedicated to citizen safety, animal rescue, and encouraging responsible pet ownership through education and reduced-cost spay/neuter vouchers. We enforce municipal ordinances and laws governing animal control and protection and provide a safe and caring environment for stray animals in need. While our primary goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners, we are also committed to finding responsible, loving homes for as many animals as possible.

LaGrange County Animal Shelter

The LaGrange County Animal Shelter is a small facility that serves the rural community of LaGrange County Indiana. The current shelter is very small and insufficent for the needs of the community. The shelter has two employees. We are always desperately seeking volunteers and donations. Please consider us as you decide to volunteer for community service. We are currently looking for volunteers to answer phones during shelter hours so that paid employees are able to work more with the cleaning and caring for animals. We would also like to find able bodies to volunteer on Tuesdays during the flea market season in Shipshewana to pass out volunteer applications, collect donations, and show pictures of adoptable dogs. We are able to house 20 adult dogs and several puppies. We also house cats.

IMPS (Internet Miniature Pinscher Service)

The Internet Miniature Pinscher Service, Inc. (IMPS) was formed in July of 1998 with the adoption of Lister through the Miniature Pinscher e-mail group at saluki.org. For information on the Miniature Pinscher e-mail list, please visit the "Minpin List" Page. The IMPS mission is to improve the lives of homeless and abandoned Miniature Pinschers through rescue and the love and respect that comes with humane care, compassion and kindness. IMPS attempts to assist Miniature Pinschers in need by providing foster care, transport, adoptive homes, veterinary care, and other services and information for the well-being of Miniature Pinschers. All Miniature Pinschers placed through IMPS will be spayed or neutered prior to placement, and have been thoroughly evaluated by a breed representative for temperament and training needs. IMPS requires reimbursement of all necessary veterinary costs (eg. the cost of the spay/neuter, microchipping, and any veterinary care required prior to placement), and in some instances, travel costs. A donation to the organization is requested with each adoption so that we may continue to care for chronically ill and/or severely injured foster dogs. In all cases, any expenses related to the adoption will be agreed upon prior to placement. While the Adoption expenses may be negotiable for some dogs, please remember that the care and upkeep of a dog, even the "King of Toys", requires some financial outlay, and if a small placement expense is beyond your means, you may wish to consider a pet which does not require as much care as the Miniature Pinscher
