Most of our animals come from shelters that are overcrowded. We try to help free up space so they do not have to euthanize due to space. We take in these animals and give them the medical attention they need as well as lots of TLC so that they become wonderful pets.

The Animal Welfare Society is primarily a low cost spay and neuter center. Our licensed veterinarians normally work at local animal hospitals, but have opened up their hearts and volunteer their services to us, which in turn keep costs down. This non-profit facility receives no government funding.

In general, special needs means those dogs who may have physical, mental, or emotional issues. In most cases, these are the dogs no one else wanted.
