Huron Humane Society

The HHS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for the homeless dogs and cats of Alpena County. Our facility is usually pretty full with 20+ dogs and 80+ cats on any given day. We are a no-kill shelter and will work to heal and rehabilitate the pets that come through our doors. While we cooperate with local governments to provide services to the surrounding city, township and county, we rely on private donations to keep our doors open

Kirby's Friends Animal Rescue

We've been around officially for two years. We have a shelter in Saginaw County but our office is at the Flint address. We are primarily a dog rescue although we've placed birds and rabbits once or twice. We are an all-breed rescue. We specialize in big, black dogs, and mixed breeds because they are the last to get adopted but we love them all. We are presently self-funded so we could use any help we can get, especially need volunteers. We are a non-profit rescue and have begun the process for getting out 501c3 non-profit license.

Knapptime Adoption Rescue and Education

At present, companion birds are the third preferred pet in the USA. We find loving, adoptive homes for unwanted or rescued companion birds with people who are experienced in bird care or are eager to learn. We believe that all pet birds deserve quality care, love, and respect and that bird owners should have access to the most current bird care information possible. Knapptime Adoption Rescue and Education (KARE) is a Rescue and a Temporary Sanctuary Facility for exotic birds. We provide birds a stable, loving home for the duration of their stay at KARE. We do not sell or breed birds. We offer birds for adoption in accordance with the KARE adoption policy located at URL http://www.knapp-time.com/HowToAdop.html. We are FEMA certified to work with Animals In Disasters, are proud members of the ASPCA, work with many other animal rescues, we have several workstudy programs for Detroit iner-city schools, we maintain an emergency response vehicle as well.

Petsafe Rescue Alliance

Our main goal is to find permanent, loving homes for the cats and dogs who are sick, injured, abandoned or unwanted and at risk of being euthanized. Each animal is seen by one of our veterinarians, updated on all vaccines, spayed or neutered, tested for diseases and given a health certificate. Dogs are also put on Heartworm and Flea preventative. Our animals are placed in a loving foster home until a good, permanent home for them can be found. Each pet receives daily one-on-one care and attention while in foster care. We work on training and socialization skills to help each pet be the best they can be. Pets do not leave foster care until we feel they are emotionally and physically ready to be placed into a permanent home.

Purrs Abound Siamese Rescue of Michigan Inc.

Purrs Abound Siamese Rescue of Michigan, Inc. is a non-profit Rescue devoted to rescuing Siamese and Siamese mix from Michigan shelters who would otherwise meet the fate of euthanization or sale to research facilities. Because foster space is SO limited, we must restrict the intake of cats into our foster homes to Siamese and their mixes only. We also can only accept cats at this time from area shelters or those who are strays facing an uncertain future. We hope that our foster families will grow in size so that we can once again offer assistance to surrounding States in the near future.
