We have now grown into a very busy, full-time shelter for the neglected, abused, and abandoned animals in our area. Always Best for PetsAlways Best for Pets is a nonprofit organization for information on feral and stray cats. We advocate Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) - the most humane and effective method to reduce feral cat populations. We also provide direct services such as assisting in the trapping and release of feral cats. We take care of the cost of the pay / neuter of the feral cats once they are trapped. They also will receive their first vaccinations including the rabies vaccine. Then the cat will be released back into the area they were trapped or if needed, a safer area. Always Best for Pets is especially proud to be able to take in a few of the feral cats and tame them and make them adoptable. We have been very successful in the past being able to adopt out an average of 4 out of 5 of our trapped feral cats. We also reach across the nation, to help individual people and communities set up trap and spay/neuter and release programs in their own neighborhoods, cities, and states. American Lhasa Apso Club RescueALAC Rescue is the officially sponsored rescue organization of the American Lhasa Apso Club. Our headquarters is in Gaithersburg, MD, but we have a nationwide network of volunteers who foster Lhasa Apsos waiting for adoption. We try hard to find permanent homes for all Lhasas in need, and we are very fortunate to have within our volunteer base many people who can assist our adoptive homes with their dog's transition to a new life. These volunteers have lived with and loved Lhasas for years and are well versed in Lhasa Apso behavior, as well as dog behavior in general. Our adoption process is designed to carefully match a dog to fit in with the lifestyle/environment of the adoptive home. This can take some time, but we are very proud of the success we have had. If you are anxious to get the perfect dog tomorrow, rescue may not be your best avenue. However, it does happen quite fast sometimes.
