Chimps Inc

Chimps Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(C)3-1 wildlife sanctuary dedicated to furthering chimpanzee conservation through education. It was founded by Lesley Day in 1995 in response to the multitude of captive chimpanzees desperately in need of homes. Our private sanctuary provides a place of refuge for those apes and big cats that have come from roadside zoos, entertainment industry and the private sector.

Col. Potter Cairn Terrier Rescue Network - North West

We are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need. We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between. Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle. At present, Col. Potter has just under 200 foster homes all over the United States.

New Beginnings SPCA

We are a non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible. We are a no-kill organization which means that we only euthanize for humane reasons (severe health reasons). Our animals are never euthanized simply because they are unwanted. We now do adoptions 7 days a week from noon to 5 PM (summer hours until 6PM). We use foster homes in addition to the pets being at our adoption center so they are not caged daily. All of our cats are combo tested plus they are already spayed/neutered and microchiped. Vaccinations will be at least started. All this is included in the adoption fee. A spay/neuter certificate is not needed.

Rabbit Advocates

Rabbit Advocates is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose volunteers specialize in educating the public about the care of domestic rabbits. We aim to place surrendered or abandoned rabbits in loving homes where they will be welcomed as family members. Formerly a part of the Oregon Humane Society, in 2002 we created a group solely devoted to promoting the welfare of domestic rabbits. The Rabbit Advocates operate an education and adoption website as well as two help lines; one through the Oregon Humane Society and one on our own. We hold rabbit adoption outreach events and other activities at locations around the Portland Metro Area and hold monthly meetings at Oregon Humane Society. Our purpose is to promote the welfare of domestic rabbits.
