Whatcom Humane SocietyThe Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) has been caring for animals throughout Whatcom County since 1902. As the oldest non-profit animal welfare organization in Whatcom County, WHS is committed to caring for any animal in need. As an open-admission shelter, the dedicated staff and volunteers at the Whatcom Humane Society cared for approximately 2,600 homeless, unwanted and abused animals in 2003. The Whatcom Humane Society has a long-standing, positive working relationship with the City of Bellingham, having provided 24 hour animal control and rescue services since 1973. Cat Tales RescueWe are looking for long term indoor-only homes. We have an unconditional return policy with no time limit. Adoption fees cover the vet services provided for the cat or kitten you adopt. Since we also provide veterinary services for stray and feral cats for whom an adoption fee is never collected, your adoption fee may also help cover the costs to spay, neuter and vaccinates these less fortunate cats. If you are unable to adopt at this time but would like to support our efforts consider becoming a foster family. We have a Senior Citizen program where we don't charge adoption fees and in some cases will also donate food and veterinary care.
