Pendleton Animal Welfare ShelterPendleton Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) of Pendleton Co., WV was formed in April, 2005 by a group of concerned Pendleton County residents. There has never been an animal shelter in Pendleton prior, not even a dog pound! We have been able to save some pets over this time, but would like to increase our capacity and effectiveness because there are many more pets we are unable to help due to a lack of funding and we are the only option for homeless animals in Pendleton. Though we are are relatively new, we do have our 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status, so all donations are tax deductible and used to pay veterinary bills and basic costs like phone, supplies, kennels & crates. Animal Relief FundThe Animal Relief Fund was started in 1996 as a way to help animals in various shelters get the medical care they needed. It provided financial support for animals that would otherwise be euthanized due to various curable conditions. It also sponsors several spay stations and low income funding.
