Vicky's Pet Connection

Vicky's Pet Connection is a growing non-profit organization in Kent County. Our mission is to rescue and recycle unwanted pets and to emphasize low/no cost spays and neuters. Every dog and cat that passes through VPC is sterilized. We are a "no kill" organization working to secure foster homes for the many animals that pass through our door. The pets are given medical attention, grooming and manner lessons if need be. Keep in mind some of the animals have been neglected (or worse) and foster homes provide the extra TLC they may need. Foster homes can help better discover the pet's true behavior and identify their assests as well.

WAGS

Wonderful and Grateful Strays Sanctuary is a place on earth where pets, that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, can stay while a loving home is found for them. I specialize in the "one of a kind" breeds because the mixes are usually the first ones abandoned and the last to be chosen. So my heart go out these special kids. W.A.G.S. has placed hundreds of rescued pets, from off the streets, as well as, the precious adoptable pets that have landed in local animal control shelters that were not adopted and are scheduled for being put down to make room for the incoming. Spirits are re-energized and sad memories are replace with miles of daily romps and endless playtime if they choose. It is so rewarding to witness the fears the pets have melt away.

Wags Animal Rescue

WAG is an all-volunteer, non-profit (501c3), domestic companion animal rescue organization dedicated to placing homeless dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in permanent, loving, responsible homes. Active in Southeast Michigan, with primary focus on the Downriver area for the past 14 years, WAG accepts strays and owner give-ups into our adoption program. Because we do not have a shelter facility, WAG is dependant on select foster care providers to accommodate the needs of homeless/stray animals until permanent placement is found.

Wayward Whiskers

Wayward Whiskers is not a shelter. We are a group of dedicated individuals that take animals into our homes until they find permanent homes of their own. We believe that there is a perfect pet for every family. Our goal is to find that family for the animals that have found their way to us. Space is VERY limited in our foster homes and donations are needed. Please email for more information and/or visit www.myspace.com/waywardwhiskers for recent updates.

West Michigan Ferret Connection

The West Michigan Ferret Connection was established in October 2001. In this short amount of time, I've been able to rehome over 150 ferrets. In addition to WMFC, I am also one of the Founders of the Midwest Ferret Fellowship, a Michigan based group dedicated to educating and promoting the domesticated ferret as a companion pet.

West Michigan SPCA

The SPCA is located in Muskegon County. The shelter regularly houses 100+ adult cats and kittens that are available for adoption. Donations, both monetary and supplies are tax deductible as allowed by law and are always appreciated. We are a TAOS (The Association of Sanctuaries) accredited sanctuary and provides a permanent home to both native and exotic wild animals that have been abused, neglected, or orphaned and cannot be returned to the wild. The shelter currently is home to numerous wolf dogs, goats, horses, kinkajous, prairie dogs, African servals, chaussie cats, coatimundis, black bears, a miniature donkey, steer, and a sugar glider. The wolf dogs are permanent residents at the sanctuary. They came to the sanctuary for many reasons and from many states including California, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. We do not breed our animals.
