Capital District Humane Association, Inc. (CDHA)The Capital District Humane Association is the oldest, all volunteer, no-kill, private animal welfare group dedicated to serving the Capital Region of New York State. We are incorporated, approved by the ASPCA of NY and registered as a 501(c)(3) Not For Profit Charity with New York State; therefore all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are an all-volunteer rescue group that operates strictly on public support. Therefore, all donations go directly to the care of the animals. Our goal is to find every animal a loving home. We take in animals on a space available basis and keep them an unlimited amount of time until the right home can be found. CDHA has saved hundreds of animals since 1988. We have rescued cats, dogs, horses, pigs, cows, and other animals. Cause for PawsWho is "A Cause for Paws?" We are a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. We have no shelter of our own, so we foster and board all of our animals until we can find them loving homes. We rescue our animals from the streets of New York City (and surrounding areas) and from local kill shelters.
