Boxer Rebound, Inc.

The Boxer is thought by many to be the ideal family dog. Those who love the breed know them to be exuberant, loyal and loving companions. They are NOT, however, the ideal breed for everyone. The same qualities and characteristics that endear them to those who love them may make them unsuitable for some households. To those who are considering owning a Boxer we offer the following information - not to discourage potential loving owners, but to aid them in making a conscientious decision. Owning a Boxer is a joy - acquiring one demands a true commitment to the physical and emotional health of the dog. Boxer Rebound is located in Ringwood, IL in McHenry County near the WI border. Our operating area encompasses Northeast IL, including Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, Southeast WI, and Northwest IN. We do not place dogs outside of our operating area. We work with all legitimate boxer rescue organizations whose operating areas are adjacent to or overlap ours. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large number of boxers awaiting adoption and the limited amount of time we have to conduct interviews, Boxer Rebound now charges a $25.00 visitation fee. To help ensure that our boxers are adopted to the appropriate homes, we spend a considerable amount of time with each applicant. We are simply unable to accommodate casual visitors. The $25.00 will be deducted from the Adoption Fee should an adoption take place. If an adoption does not occur, the fee is considered a donation to our program. Visits are by apppointment only.

Pets In Need Midwest

Pets In Need Midwest was founded in 1991 by Pat and Rudy Klimo in Ringwood, Illinois. We are a state licensed, No-Kill, Non-Profit Animal Shelter. Pets In Need Midwest is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and we qualify for tax-exempt status. Your contributions are fully tax-deductible to the amount allowed by law. We do not receive any government funding, relying solely on adoption fees, private donations, and fund raising activities. Our mission is to "Champion the humane treatment of domesticated animals" through the following means: Adhering to the principle that no animal will ever be euthanized to make room for another. Providing temporary shelter and veterinary care as necessary for those unwanted or lost pets until either their owners or suitable adoptive homes can be located. Reuniting lost pets with their owners. Locating suitable adoptive homes for unwanted dogs, cats, and other pets. Promoting public awarenesss of and accessibility to spay/neuter programs for pets. Acting as an ambassador for our adoptees in their new homes so that we may continue to work with and support the animals, their owners, and the public.

Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter

Orphans of the Storm has spent most of a century caring for stray, abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats from northeast Illinois. Our history is a colorful one, starting with famous dancer and fashion trendsetter Irene Castle, continuing through the dedication and commitment of animal welfare activist Thelma Zwirner, and her son and current president, Richard Zwirner. We operate one of the country’s oldest and largest animal shelters, offering refuge and rehabilitation, finding warm and loving adoptive homes for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs and cats every year. We hope that once you get to know us, you’ll want to become a supporter by adopting from us, spreading the word about us, or helping in other ways.
