SWHDR - Southeastern Wisconsin Herding Dog RescueThe Mission of The Southeastern Wisconsin Herding Dog Rescue Program is "TO HELP SHELTIES AND SELECTED OTHER HERDING BREEDS IN NEED AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP" First and foremost the SWHDR rescue program is to be concerned with the welfare of the dogs in our program and to treat each dog as an individual case dealt with fairly and with the best interest of the dog in mind. Secondly, we want the homes that these dogs are adopted into to be the best possible match to the needs of the dog and the adopting home. Our adopted dogs have acquired many performance titles, junior showmanship wins, Obedience, Agility. Herding, K-9 good citizen titles. Tail Waggers 911We are a group of fun people who simply love dogs. It took a lot of thinking about how could we make a difference in being a rescue. There are many rescues but how could we stand out. We decided the best way is to find the nicest, sweetest dogs who just need a home. We are not breed or age specific. We are not even specific on who the adopter could be. We just knew if we had a potential adopter fill out an application, complete a home visit and get to know them we could find them a perfect dog for their home.121 W. Taylor County Animal ServicesWe pick up stray or lost cats and dogs and give them a safe comfortable place to stay and care for them until their owners can recover them. Sometimes there is no one who calls to find these pets and we need to find new adoption families for them. We are very limited on the time alloted for us to care for these animals, the county who has contracted us will only provide funds for seven days, after that we keep these pets at our own expense.
