Sycamore Street Rescue is a non-profit animal rescue organization that began in the early 1990s with the rescue of feral cats on Sycamore Street. Since then, they have rescued dozens of cats, dogs, and one rabbit. On our own, and in conjunction with other groups, we have made it our mission to help abandoned animals find a secure, happy, and healthy future.

Here at Little Bits, we are committed to responsible pet ownership and education. We do not advocate the taking of wildlife to keep as pets. Nor do we promote exotic animals as pets. We believe that the future well-being of our rescues is our most important responsibility, and the welfare of our rescues always takes precedence in the adoption process. Any animal stays with us as long as it takes to find the right home.
Little Bits Rescue Ranch is dedicated to helping any exotic animal of any age find loving permanent families. All of our animals are treated for any medical concerns, wormed, spayed/neutered and brought current on any applicable shots before placement.
Little Bits Sheltie and Collie Rescue is dedicated to helping shelties and collies and other herding breeds of all ages find loving and caring permanent families. We are a volunteer organization that helps homeless and abandoned herding dogs. Each dog is treated for any and all medical conditions, spayed or neutered, brought current on all shots, wormed, treated for fleas and ticks, heartworm tested and started on preventative medication, and groomed.

We are a family who rescues small to medium dogs, domestic birds, and some small animals. Most rescuers have a breed of choice, ours is the dachshund, but that doesn't mean that's all we will have for adoption. If I have space my door is open to any breed or mix under 25 lbs. Our adoption fees range depending on type of animal and medical treatment needed from $10.00 to 350.00, I spay and neuter, and update shots on any dog shortly after they enter our
rescue. We are no kill, and not about making a profit. To fill out an adoption application please visit:

Our Mission
Friends for Life is moving Houston forward to a No Kill future though programs that redefine "adoptable." We rescue, medically treat, and place animals into loving homes. 75% of the animals we have already placed would not be saved without our unique programs. Our pet retention programs help to keep animals in homes.
Also advancing our community towards a No Kill future are our humane education programs that teach children that animals are not disposable but are companions who deserve our care and compassion. The connection between violence and indifference to animals and similar behavior against people is so well documented it is axiomatic. The lessons of respect and kindness empower children with ways they can make the world better for animals and ultimately better for all of us. While there is immediate rescue work to be done, the path to permanent change lies in changing attitudes about valuing and caring for our companion animals.
