Cat Haven Inc.

Cat Haven is an all-volunteer nonprofit rescue organization for homeless cats and kittens in the Baton Rouge area. Cat Haven was founded in October 1999. Since inception, Cat Haven has placed over 3000 rescued cats in loving new homes. Cat Haven also has an active spay/neuter advocacy program (our Fix-A-Feline program has altered over 600 cats)and feral cat management program (which has trapped, tested, altered and released over 1200 cats). One of Cat Haven's main goals is to have its own shelter facility to house cats in a home-like environment while awaiting adoption and to serve as a base of operations for all of our other programs.

APAWS Animal Protectiuon and Welfare Society

Who We Are A.P.A.W.S. (Animal Protection And Welfare Society) is an all volunteer group of people who are dedicated to ensuring that all pet animals in and around the Baton Rouge area live in homes which provide for all of the animal's physical and emotional needs (including daily maintenance, medical care and nurturing) for the animal's lifetime. Some volunteers provide food, shelter and love in their homes to cats and dogs who have been injured, abandoned or thrown away. Others help by transporting the animals to veterinarian appointments, volunteering on Adoption Days, participating in fund raising activities, mailings, publicity efforts and public education. Because we receive no external funding, we rely on fund raising efforts and donations to fund our efforts. Your unwanted items can help support unwanted animals. APAWS is now affiliated with "HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW" thrift store on Burbank drive in Baton Rouge. Items may be donated MONDAY - SATURDAY between the hours of 9:00- 4:00. Simply designate sale proceeds to benefit APAWS. APAWS will receive 50% of sale proceeds! It's that easy! So clean out those closets! Go through the kid's clothes, empty out that garage! Unwanted items help unwanted animals Sale of just $20 of items will provide APAWS with $$ for a rabies shot... Sale of $60 will spay/neuter a homeless animal! Clean up and help out!

St. Martin Humane Society

The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501 (c3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fund raising to fulfill its mission. We have pets for adoption from different sources (strays, owner released...) and we rely solely on foster homes for the animal in our care. We also work very hard to try to reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the Society through low cost and free spay-neuter programs. Because we neither have a facility nor employees, all the money we raised is used for the pets in our care and our spay/neuter program.

Lafayette Animal Aid

We are a no-kill shelter in Lafayette (Carencro), LA that houses at the shelter, on average, 65 dogs and 65 cats. We also provide for more animals living in foster homes. All of our animals are current on shots, and all are spayed/neutered. Cats are tested and vaccinated for Feluk and FIV. Dogs are tested for heartworms and if necessary, treated. We do not discriminate against any animal due to size, age, color, breed, or behavioral problems, unless the animal is too aggressive for our volunteers to handle and poses a threat to other animals and volunteers. Intakes are dependent upon availability of space at the shelter. Adoption fees for both cats and dogs are $80.00.
