New Orleans German Shepherd RescueFounded in 2002, NOGSR is a small not-for-profit 501(c) 3 group dedicated to rescuing German shepherds in southeast Louisiana. Most of the dogs come from local shelters. Some come from owners who have requested our help in finding a new home for their pet. Animal Aid for Vermilion AreaWe are a non-profit organization that has been in existance for about 14 years. We do not adopt outside of our area, which means we would like to keep adoptions in the Acadiana area. We do not have a shelter open to the public. We take in animals that have been abandoned and/or abused. In fact, most of our animals have been through some sort of abuse and we have worked hard to rehabilitate them to be ready for adoption. We are a very small group of volunteers and we all have animals that we are fostering at our homes.
