Hi Plains Animal RescueWhile we do not have an actual shelter here, we try to help save animals from the terrible fates that await them at the hands of many who don't care. We have several foster homes, though they are usually full, but we sometimes keep a waiting list. No promises, but please contact us to see what our resources are if you need to surrender your pet, or have found a stray. Often, we can find other rescue groups with some ideas, and we try to work with them on housing, transporting and adopting. Foster Animal NetworkThe first viable foster program in Asheville, we are wholly devoted to the placement of lost, stray, neglected and abandoned animals. The Foster Animal Network started out helping many different animals, but is now cat specific due to a reduction in our volunteer force.
