Central States Horse Rescue & SanctuaryCentral States Horse Rescue was founded in 1995. Back then we were "Wisconsin Horse Rescue". We have grown quickly over the years. We have participated in helping many abused and/or neglected horses in these short years. "Central States Horse Rescue" was originally self funded, but we soon discovered that expansion required funding through donations. Thus we became a not-for-profit organization. We are a PRIVATE rescue center, NOT a 501c3, non-profit. However ALL donations are used entirely for the horses. No one receives a salary for this effort. However, our priorities dictate our main goal is to help needy horses, not to do fundraising. Our goal is to intervene in cases of abuse and neglect, purchase horses destined for slaughter, and to offer them sanctuary. With this in mind we humbly ask for your kind donations, both large and small. Ferret DenThe Ferret Den is dedicated to the rescue of unwanted and abandoned ferrets from owners, humane societies and all other sources, in order that they may be placed in new homes if after evaluation they are determined to be adoptable. We will provide for those animals which are received but after evaluation are deemed not adoptable. Ferrets adopted through us will be pets and will never be used for breeding or for experimental purposes under any circumstances. Ferrets will, after all instances, be spayed or neutered prior to adoption if the animal was not previously spayed or neutered. New owners will be asked to sign an adoption agreement which will spell out specific conditions of adoption before adoption is permitted. Adoption fees are dependent upon the age and health of the ferret. Second Chance Alaskan Malamute Program, INC. (SCAMP)SCAMP has been giving Malamutes a Second Chance at the life of love and happiness that every pet deserves since 1990. Originally called WI Alaskan Malamute Rescue, SCAMP became incorporated in 1998 as a non-profit organization for the following reasons: To attempt to reunite Malamutes with their owners, assist breeders willing to take them back, and to aid in relocating unwanted Malamutes in permanent, appropriate adoptive homes. To create a network that will keep track of dogs who are lost or found and are being kept in foster homes or shelters, and to keep track of people interested in adopting and volunteers for foster homes. To work to prevent cruelty to Malamutes and all dogs by educating the public about responsible care, including spay/neuter and in the training of their dogs. SCAMP is operated by a group of volunteers and our foster homes/kennels are scattered throughout the state of Wisconsin. We provide most of the necessary medical care and vaccines before adoption. All dogs are spayed/neutered, and are temperament tested before adoption. Midwest Italian Greyhound RescueWe are a rescue organization run by volunteers and representatives of the IGCA (Italian Greyhound Club of America) as well as other groups dedicated to saving lives! We have been oing Italian Greyhound rescue in the Midwest for over 10 years. All our dogs are in foster homes through Southern WI and surrounding areas and placed in WI or neighboring states. IGs in our program come from a variety of sources but most are owner surrenders given up when the family is no longer able to keep their pet.
