Star-Mar Rescue

Star-Mar Rescue is a small, not for profit, dog rescue run by Sharry Starner and Martha Leary. Star-Mar is located on a 140 acre equine breeding and training farm called BrookStar Farm. Fifteen acres is fenced for the dogs which includes the barn. Our dogs are around people all day every day. They are exposed to other dogs, cats, goats, horses and foals and are used to people coming and going from the facility. Aside from placing our own dogs, Star-Mar pulls dogs from high kill shelters and houses them temporarily for other rescues to take into their programs. Many dogs loose their lives because they do not have the luxury of time in the shelters that allows rescues to put together transports and find fosters to save these dogs. Star-Mar Rescue has helped many dogs get into rescue by giving them the time that is needed.
