Rokita Dog Sanctuary

Specializing in Rottweilers and Akitas, Rokita Dog Sanctuary has been rescuing large and giant breed dogs since 1993. With a primary focus of dealing with breeds that are more difficult to place, and therefore stand a greater chance of being killed in municipal pounds, Rokita Dog Sanctuary strives to retrain and rehabilitate these "throw-aways" -- dogs that have either outlived their usefulness or their novelty with impulsive owners who considered their dog a possession rather than a friend or family member -- and get them into suitable household settings.
