St. Louis Animal ControlAnimal control is provided by the Health & Welfare Division of the Department of Public Works. The city Animal Control Officer performs routine patrol and enforcement of the animal control regulations. In the event an animal is impounded, a release form must be obtain from the Creve Coeur Department of Public Works prior to the owner proceeding to the St. Louis County Rabies Control facility to claim the animal. A redemption fee of $5 for the first time, $25 the second time, and $50 for each time thereafter during one calendar year, is charged. The owner must show proof of current rabies vaccination prior to the animal being released.
