Basneji Rescue and Transport

The mission of Basenji Rescue & Transport, Inc. is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs of the basenji breed. BRAT is an all-volunteer organization with 800 plus volunteers fostering throughout the United States and Canada. BRAT is not a shelter. BRAT has been recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt charitable corporation since its founding in 1999. BRAT rescues basenjis from shelters, abusive situations, and relinquishing owners. We provide routine and advanced veterinary care for our dogs and insure that they have been spayed/neutered and appropriately immunized before placement. Although BRAT's primary mission is the rescue of purebred basenjis, we also notify prospective adopters of basenji mixes who need re-homing.
