Motor City Ferrets

Motor City Ferrets, formally established in April 2000, is a private, no-kill shelter for homeless ferrets. We operate in our home in Hazel Park. Our Â“staffÂ” (ha) consists of two busy working people, Nanci & Alex. We can tend to up to 60 ferrets at one time, but our most comfortable level is perhaps 35 or less, depending on how many groups/individuals make up the overall number. We moved into our first home in December 2003 and are in the midst of remodeling...with our schedules we plan to be in the midst of the remodeling for some months/years/decades/eons to come (oh the frustration Â– HA)! We are a private rescue and therefore receive no formal funding from state agencies or animal welfare organizations. We fund the rescue out of our personal incomes and offset some of the costs with adoption fees, boarding fees, the sale of ferret supplies and generous donations.
