Pet Assistance and Welfare Society (PAWS)

PAWS (Pet Assistance & Welfare Society, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 organization that formed in mid-2000. PAWS was put together by a small group of volunteers that had been volunteering at the Tulsa Animal Shelter. These volunteers saw a need to be able to raise funds to help some of the animals at the shelter and to put in place a low cost and free spay/neuter clinic to help alleviate Tulsa's serious pet overpopulation problem. They weren't able to do this in their current Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) capacity, so they formed PAWS.
