Fail-Safe 4 Felines

Fail-Safe 4 Felines, Inc., is a non-profit organization that has come together in an effort to humanely reduce and ultimately eliminate the procreation of the feral cat and kitten population in Downey. In so doing, we will be effective in significantly reducing the euthanasia statistics associated with this issue. We operate on a 100% volunteer basis. All proceeds are used in the care (medical and otherwise) of the feline population in Downey. All donations are tax deductible as we operate under the 501(c) (3) exemption law.

APET Rescue and Kennels Inc.

A-PET is strictly a no-kill, rescue shelter! Once an animal comes through our doors, it stays with us until an appropriate home is found for that animal. A-PET boasts over 270 successful adoptions! We never “return or release an animal to any Animal Control Facility nor do we ever turn an animal over to any other organization that participates in euthanasia. A-PET accepts animals on a space available basis giving priority to the rescue and care of lost, injured, abandoned and/or stray animals from Edwards Animal Control as well as PCS Surrenders. PCS surrenders are those animals that come from military members who have Deployment or PCS Orders and are unable to continue properly caring for their pet(s) due to the Air Force Mission.

CALIFORNIA SIAMESE RESCUE CASR

Because of the sensitive nature of Siamese and Siamese mix cats 'showing' poorly in shelters with the end result being euthanasation, a group of us felt the need to dedicate an organization within our own state to rescue them. And so California Siamese Rescue was 'born' as a new, non-profit organization in July 2001. California is a large state, with varying polices from county to county. We felt adopters, fosters, and rescues could better be served by having two Directors, Denise Fabel in Northern California and Mary Ann Martin in Southern California, who work with volunteers in rescue and fostering, as well as providing support where needed. We are like the other Centers in that our goal, and end result is the same, to take the helpless, homeless and abandoned cats and kittens, (who through no fault of their own, have landed into unfortunate, if not potentially lethal circumstances), and find "forever" homes where they may live the rest of their lives in safety. We also provide medical screening and/or care when needed to insure they are adoptable. But, we are different in that all of our rescues live in foster homes, (located in different areas of the state), who are in most circumstances the caring individual(s) who also rescued the cat or kitten. We feel they can introduce you to the cat or kitten's personality, (and give you some idea as to how or why they were in the situation from where they came), so you may better decide which fur-baby you want to add to your family.
