Northwood Animal Hospital Good Sam ProgramWe are a full service veterinary hospital that is committed to helping as many sick and injured animals as we can through our Good Samaritan program. Generally, animals are brought to us by people ("Good Sams") who find them and we fix them up and adopt them out when they are healthy. All the animals we adopt out are up to date on their vaccines, have negative fecal exams, are dewormed and are flea-free. Our adoption fees are between $45 and $150 depending on the age, species and breed. We require that all pets we adopt out be spayed or neutered prior to adoption if they are old enough or that a deposit be left to ensure they will be spayed/neutered at the appropriate age. Oasis RanchAt the Oasis Ranch it is our goal to operate a non-kill sanctuary for the care, treatment and maintenance of neglected, abused, injured, sick, afflicted and disabled animals, particularily horses and cats. PLEASE NOTE - Unfortunately we are not equipped to handle dogs and cannot assist in the rescue or fostering of dogs of any size. Osceola County Animal ControlWe are an Animal Control facility that is run by the County Government. We accept owner surrendered pets as well as stray animals. At times we have exotics and livestock. We have our own surgery facility with a contracted veterinarian. We spay and neuter every adopted animal that leaves our facility. We also vaccinate for the major diseases as well as heartworm test dogs and Leukemia/FIV test cats. All dogs have a microchip inserted. Please be aware that if you adopt a pet from us that it will not be ready to go home with you until it has had its surgery. Most animals go home the next day. All animals have to be held "stray" time if they have no owner.
