Genesis Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Charity Inc.

Genesis Animal Rescue is dedicated to the immediate rescue and follow-up rehabilitation of any animal in need. We are a state-licensed, non-profit 501C-3 group. All incoming animals are given a complete health check upon arrival in their foster home. A thorough temperment test is performed on all domestic animals prior to any and all foster stays or eventual adoption into a forever home. After evaluating individual temperment, the animals then begin the process of healing. Severe abuse and neglect are common among incoming animals. The healing process encompasses both physical as well as psycological healing. If you are considering adopting a pet from us, please review our entire website before contacting us (EMAIL ONLY PLEASE) Most of your questions/concerns about adoption are answered in full on the adoption info page. Please remember that we are all volunteers and we do our best to respond to you in a timely manner. Your patience is appreciated! We thank you for your interest and wish you the best of luck in your search!

Hope Animal Rescues

We are a Rescue which means we physically go and save lives. Hope pulls animals on their last day of life from animal control facilities that still use the inhumanne gas chamber to put to death homeless pets. We lobby our goverment to ban the use of such chambers for they are cruel. For anyone who does not understand how a gas chamber works we can tell you that they do not die immediately, they do not die peacefully, they die thrown together with cats, dogs, puppies all trying to escape the chamber and breath. It is much like being suffocated. Please help, write your congressman, write your mayor, be active in this and help us to stop the cruelty.

Association for the Protection of Animals

We are a "no-kill" animal shelter, located in the woods in a secluded part of Granite City. No animal that you will ever see here will be "put to sleep" to make room for another. We are one of the very few in the area. We work very, very hard to get our critters adopted so that we can save another.

BARK-Belleville Area Rescue of K-9s

BARK is an all-breed rescue organization. We are based out of Belleville, IL, which is about 20 minutes east of St. Louis, MO. As a rescue group, we have no official "shelter" facility. BARK is 100% volunteers. Most work full time, others are going to college. Still, we all make time to save these little (and sometimes big!) lives. We exist solely on donations, as we are an IRS 501(c)3 non-profit organization (donations are tax-deductible). We are fully licensed by the state, and we are always looking for people to help our organization and the animals! We are a network of foster homes who teach and take care of our animals until they can find their forever homes. We rescue all breeds, sizes, and ages!

Belleville Area Humane Society

In 1959, a caring group of volunteers gathered to share a common and deeply-held concern: a desire to help the thousands of unwanted, abandoned and mistreated animals of this community. Their dedication to the welfare of animals led to the creation of the Belleville Area Humane Society. BAHS depends almost entirely upon the intrest and support of concerned citizens through donations and membership in the organization. A Board of Directors is charged with governance of the organization, including management of policies, finances, physical plant, operations, personnel, fundraising events, media and public relations, public outreach activities and all other matters that relate to its purpose and activities. The main activities of the shelter are carried out by empolyees (with additional assistance provided by volunteers) under the direction of a manager. BAHS is a non-profit organization. It's support is derived primarily from membership fees, donations, bequests, adoption fees and fundraising activities. Some operating funds are recieved through billed services to St. Clair Township and the city of Belleville. Grant funds may also contribute to BAHS operations.
