Friends for Life

Our Mission Friends for Life is moving Houston forward to a No Kill future though programs that redefine "adoptable." We rescue, medically treat, and place animals into loving homes. 75% of the animals we have already placed would not be saved without our unique programs. Our pet retention programs help to keep animals in homes. Also advancing our community towards a No Kill future are our humane education programs that teach children that animals are not disposable but are companions who deserve our care and compassion. The connection between violence and indifference to animals and similar behavior against people is so well documented it is axiomatic. The lessons of respect and kindness empower children with ways they can make the world better for animals and ultimately better for all of us. While there is immediate rescue work to be done, the path to permanent change lies in changing attitudes about valuing and caring for our companion animals.

Bud's Place, Inc.

Bud's Place is a retirement home for small, geriatric dogs. As you can see, sometimes we have a visitor who isn't small and certainly not geriatric, but mainly we're here for those whose owners could no longer care for them, or, sadly, were tossed away for a newer version.
