Animal Education and Rescue (NFP)Animal Education and Rescue, NFP is an Illinois not for profit organization. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization. 3. The purpose of the foundation is to help countless numbers of animals and people. 1. We speak to schools, civic organizations, and clubs about responsible pet ownership. This will include the reasons for spaying and neutering, general care, and the do's and don'ts of owning a pet. We teach pet owners about how animals communicate with each other and with humans. We have designed special programs to introduce animals to children through animal body language sessions and pet education. 2. We provide pet therapy programs. Volunteers and their pets will visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools for the disabled and hospitals. (Studies have proven that overall mental and physical health of humans is improved when they are exposed to animals.) 3. We are a resource for other animal related non-profit groups. During our public speaking and through our office we will provide a list of animal shelters, foster care foundations and other animal related organizations. 4. We provide shelter and care to purebred Collies which have been abandoned or turned in to shelters. The Collies are placed in temporary foster homes until a permanent home can be found. Genesis Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Charity Inc.Genesis Animal Rescue is dedicated to the immediate rescue and follow-up rehabilitation of any animal in need. We are a state-licensed, non-profit 501C-3 group. All incoming animals are given a complete health check upon arrival in their foster home. A thorough temperment test is performed on all domestic animals prior to any and all foster stays or eventual adoption into a forever home. After evaluating individual temperment, the animals then begin the process of healing. Severe abuse and neglect are common among incoming animals. The healing process encompasses both physical as well as psycological healing. Kankakee County Animal FoundationThe Kankakee County Animal Foundation is a Voluntary Not For Profit Organization which consists of a Board of Directors, President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The KCAF is located in Kankakee County Illinois. The organization's focus is Fostering, Adoptions, Emphasizing Spay/Neuter and Responsible Pet Ownership Education. The organization's volunteer foster homes are important to the success of the adoption process. Local shelters are also part of this process. Local veterinarians are used to provide necessary animal wellness which includes all vacinations,lab tests, etc. As part of the KCAF's project, through donations, they provide the monetary resources to enable the local veterinarians to provide low cost spay/neuter. Additionally, our volunteers strive to educate the public about responsible pet ownership. They call upon friends, teachers, scout leaders, parents, etc., for help. Most of the reasons that animals end up in animal control are preventable by teaching children animal safety and pet care. Many of the problems of today can be decreased as these children grow up and become responsible pet owners. The Foundation has asked educators to add this information to their units on safety, biology, etc., urging scout leaders to encourage children to work toward badges related to these subjects. Parents need to set the good example by teaching their children safe, responsible pet care at home. KCAF provides information on related educational materials.
