Saint Bernard Rescue Foundation, INC. WISCONSINTo act as a shepherd for Saint Bernard dogs and puppies that are without suitable caretakers and are in need of help; to shelter the homeless; to care for and find homes for the unwanted, abandoned, neglected and abused; to feed the hungry; to provide medical services to the sick, injured and lame; to assist in the rescue of those subjected to conditions hazardous to their well-being or to confinement in government or private shelter, who without intervention would be needlessly Euthanize; to provide for the humane disposition of those not sound in mind, body or temperament; to educate the public as to the characteristics of, and proper care for, the breed so as to promote compatible, loving, lasting home/family placements; to educate the public as to responsible pet ownership so as to prevent accidental litters and to prevent inhumane trafficking in puppies and dogs, and so as to promote the most humane manner of disposition of pets at journey's end; to encourage, promote and support research respecting the breed that explores or improves relations between the breed and owners or sheds light on the causes of abandonment, neglect or abuse, or promotes the public's understanding of the special characteristics and attributes of the breed or that is designed to improve the welfare of the breed in any manner. Wisconsin Westie RescueWisconsin Westie Rescue is an organization devoted to the rescue and placement of West Highland White Terriers or Westies. Many of our Westies are from animal shelters that come in as strays or as dogs relinquished directly by former owners. Some of our dogs come from owners who can no longer care for the dog. Once the Westie is in our rescue, it is placed with a foster family who cares for the dog until it is adopted. The Westies are spayed or neutered, given all their shots, microchipped and examined by a veterinarian. The dog’s temperament is evaluated, as well as how it gets along with children and other pets. This way, the dog can be placed with a family that is well suited for it. Central States Horse Rescue & SanctuaryCentral States Horse Rescue was founded in 1995. Back then we were "Wisconsin Horse Rescue". We have grown quickly over the years. We have participated in helping many abused and/or neglected horses in these short years. "Central States Horse Rescue" was originally self funded, but we soon discovered that expansion required funding through donations. Thus we became a not-for-profit organization. We are a PRIVATE rescue center, NOT a 501c3, non-profit. However ALL donations are used entirely for the horses. No one receives a salary for this effort. However, our priorities dictate our main goal is to help needy horses, not to do fundraising. Our goal is to intervene in cases of abuse and neglect, purchase horses destined for slaughter, and to offer them sanctuary. With this in mind we humbly ask for your kind donations, both large and small.
